Everything runs in this tab — the text never leaves your browser.

Turn any headline into a clean URL slug. Azerbaijani and Russian transliterate properly — ə, ğ, ş become e, g, s and Cyrillic becomes real Latin letters — where generic slug tools silently delete them.

What makes a good slug

A slug is the part of the URL that names the page: /yeni-ofis-acilisi/. Good ones are short, lowercase, use dashes between words and contain nothing a browser has to percent-encode. The moment a slug contains ə or a Cyrillic letter, the address bar shows it fine — but every copy of the link in a document, a chat or an email turns into %C9%99 soup.

Transliteration solves that at the source: the letters are spelled out in Latin once, and the link survives every paste. This page keeps your original casing rules simple — everything is lowercased, punctuation becomes a separator, and repeated separators collapse to one.

Frequently asked questions

Why does ə disappear in other slug generators?

Most tools transliterate by stripping Unicode accents: é decomposes into e plus a mark, the mark is dropped, e remains. But ə is not a decorated e — it is its own letter with no decomposition — so the strip step deletes it entirely and 'Ədalət' becomes 'dalt'. This tool uses an explicit table instead: ə→e, ğ→g, ı→i, ş→s, ç→c, ö→o, ü→u.

How is Russian handled?

With a full transliteration table, not deletion: ж→zh, ч→ch, ш→sh, щ→shch, ю→yu, я→ya and so on. 'Привет мир' becomes 'privet-mir'. Hard and soft signs, which have no sound of their own, are dropped.

Dash or underscore?

Dash, unless something on your side requires otherwise. Search engines treat a dash as a word separator and an underscore as a joiner: 'yeni-ofis' is read as two words, 'yeni_ofis' as one. Dashes are also easier to read aloud over the phone.

What does the max length do?

Cuts the slug at a word boundary so it never ends mid-word. Long URLs get truncated in search results and chat previews anyway; sixty characters is a comfortable ceiling for most sites.
